Hip Pain

Most 'hip pain' isn't actually in the hip joint, it's in the SI joint, the glutes, or the lumbar spine.

About Hip Pain

Patients arrive convinced they have 'hip arthritis' when the real driver is the sacroiliac (SI) joint or a deep glute trigger point referring pain to the hip area. Sorting this out on day one changes everything.

We assess the hip as part of a system, pelvis, lumbar, knee, gait, and treat the actual cause.

Common causes

  • SI joint dysfunction
  • Gluteus medius or piriformis trigger points
  • Lumbar disc referral
  • Hip flexor restriction and gait imbalance
  • True hip joint arthritis (less common than people think)

How we treat it

  • SI joint and pelvic adjusting
  • Glute and piriformis trigger-point release
  • Lumbar adjustment when relevant
  • Hip mobility and stability rehab
