What it is
The short version
Our in-house digital X-ray suite allows indicated images to be captured and reviewed without a separate imaging-center visit. X-rays are not needed for every new patient and do not show every cause of pain. Your clinician uses the history and physical examination first, orders imaging only when it is expected to inform care, and explains the findings and limitations in plain language.

Before care begins
Candidacy, limitations, and safety
- When X-ray is useful
- Imaging is ordered only when the history or examination identifies an indication and the result is expected to inform care. It is not a routine requirement for every new patient.
- Limitations and exposure
- X-rays use ionizing radiation and do not show every source of pain, including many soft-tissue or nerve conditions. The smallest appropriate study is selected when imaging is justified.
- Safety and referral
- Tell the clinician if you are or may be pregnant and provide relevant prior imaging. Findings outside chiropractic scope are referred to an appropriate medical provider.

The American College of Radiology rates initial imaging as usually not appropriate for uncomplicated acute low-back pain without red flags; imaging decisions should follow the clinical assessment.
