Arthritis

We can't reverse arthritis, but we can dramatically improve how you live with it.

About Arthritis

Arthritis means joint inflammation. Osteoarthritis (wear-and-tear) is by far the most common form, though rheumatoid and other inflammatory types exist too.

Care for arthritis focuses on what we can change, joint motion, muscle strength, compensatory patterns, and inflammation, not the X-ray itself. Most patients feel substantially better even with significant arthritis.

Common causes

  • Osteoarthritis, age and use
  • Old injuries that accelerated wear
  • Genetic predisposition
  • Joint-loading inefficiency (gait, mechanics)

How we treat it

  • Gentle joint mobilization and adjusting
  • Soft-tissue work on tight compensating muscles
  • Strengthening to offload the arthritic joint
  • Movement coaching and activity guidance
