Arm Pain

Arm pain often starts in the neck. Knowing where the cause lives changes the care plan.

About Arm Pain

Most arm pain is referred, meaning the pain shows up in the arm but is generated somewhere else, usually the neck or the shoulder. Distinguishing referred from local pain on day one is the difference between a working plan and months of guessing.

We exam carefully, treat the cause, and rehab the chain so the pain doesn't return.

Common causes

  • Cervical nerve root irritation (pinched nerve in the neck)
  • Shoulder joint or rotator cuff dysfunction
  • Trigger points in upper traps, scalenes, or pec minor
  • Repetitive strain (lifting, gaming, desk work)

How we treat it

  • Cervical adjusting if the cause is at the root
  • Shoulder mobility and stability work
  • Trigger-point and soft-tissue release
  • Nerve glides for radicular cases
