Rotator Cuff

Most rotator cuff issues respond well to a structured rehab and adjusting plan, without surgery.

About Rotator Cuff

The rotator cuff is the group of four muscles that stabilize the shoulder. Strains, partial tears, and impingement are extremely common, especially in active adults and overhead athletes.

We assess the cuff function plus scapular and thoracic mechanics, most issues involve the whole upper-quarter chain, not just the cuff itself.

Common causes

  • Acute overload (lifting, falling)
  • Repetitive overhead activity
  • Poor scapular mechanics
  • Age-related degeneration

How we treat it

  • Targeted rotator cuff rehab
  • Scapular and thoracic mobility work
  • Soft-tissue release for impinged structures
  • Adjusting where joint restriction is present
